The Twin Jugglers are a recurring group in The Legend of Zelda series.[2] The Twin Jugglers go unnamed in Majora's Mask.[note 1]

Biography

Ocarina of Time

In Ocarina of Time, the Blue Juggler is a nervous man who constantly tells the Red Juggler in the Market various things, only to be mocked by his twin.[4] The man dressed in blue claims that he attempted to have met Princess Zelda by sneaking into Hyrule Castle.[5] After avoiding the Soldiers, he tried to access the Castle Courtyard by crawling through the secret passageway; however, the twin became stuck within the passageway and eventually got caught by the castle's guards.[6] As a result, the guards increased their security, not allowing anyone into the castle.[7]

Later the blue Juggler is almost kicked by Ganondorf's Horse.[8] The Blue Juggler once again mocks him for this.[9]

They flee to Kakariko Village when Link is an adult. The Blue Juggler insists that he saw the ghost of Dampé descending into his grave, carrying a piece of treasure.[10] After Link clears the Shadow Temple, the Blue Juggler witnesses Link teleporting out and is shocked.[11] He also laments that no one has believed him for the last seven years.[12]

Majora's Mask

In Majora's Mask, the Twin Jugglers spend their time practicing their juggling skills outside at East Clock Town. They are always laughing and generally having a good time.[13] They like to make fun of each other, with both laughing at their jokes.[14] Both of them are members of the Gorman Troupe.[15] At night, they can be found inside the room that the Gorman Troupe rented in the Stock Pot Inn playing a game of cards.

Notes

  • In Ocarina of Time, an altered version of their model is also used for other NPCs. A white palette of them is used for the man looking at the window at night in the Market. One headswapped model with is used for the man overlooking Hylian Market and later Kakariko village's tower. The other model has a beard and is recolored for the curious man in the Happy Mask Shop and a back alley NPC. Both of their head models are Unused Content in Majora's Mask.

Notes

  1. Though the twins are only jugglers in Majora's Mask, Encyclopedia uses the term "Twin Juggler" only in the section on Ocarina of Time – in the Majora's Mask section, they are individually named "Red Juggler" and "Blue Juggler".[3]
