The Tabahl Woods are a recurring location in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2]

Features and Overview

Breath of the Wild

The Tabahl Woods are a dense forest of Cedar Trees within the Lanayru Great Spring. The path to Zora's Domain snakes along their northern end before cutting through their center. The Tabahl Woods also feature several rocky areas, in which Ore Deposits are located. They are just north of the Zodobon Highlands, and the Bank of Wishes can be found on their eastern shore. The Zora River also curves around the eastern and northern borders of the Woods. Prior to Divine Beast Vah Ruta being calmed, its Rain will constantly fall on the Tabahl Woods.[3]

On the west side of the Tabahl Woods, a Black Hinox can be found asleep.[4] It will initially be asleep, but if Link approaches it, it will wake up and begin to attack him. In addition to this, three Monster Strongholds are located within the Tabahl Woods. The first is located along the road on the north side of the Woods, and it contains many metal crates and Wooden Boxes. The second is located near the hill on the Woods eastern side, and it protects a cave with a Campfire and Roasted Basses. An abandoned Cooking Pot can also be found in another cave nearby. The final Stronghold is west of the Bank of Wishes, and when it is cleared, a Treasure Chest containing a Sapphire can be opened.

Several other Treasure Chests are located in the Tabahl Woods. Two are found in the first Monster Stronghold along the road, containing a Purple Rupee and a Soldier's Bow. The hill on the west side of the Woods bears a cave, though its entrance is blocked by thorns. If Link burns the thorns with Fire, he will be able to access the stone Chest inside, which contains a Throwing Spear.

A total of three Korok Seed Puzzles can be found in the Tabahl Woods. The first is a Circle in the pond on the south end of the Woods, which Link must throw a Rock into. The second is on the hill on their western edge, taking the form of a metal Boulder chained to a well. To solve it, Link must use the Magnesis Rune to place the Boulder into the well. The final Puzzle is a Rock to the north of the Black Hinox, which is revealed to be a Natural Hiding Spot when picked up. When each of these Korok Seed Puzzles are solved, a Korok will appear and give Link a Korok Seed.[5]
