Revali is known for his arrogant and sardonic outward personality, which is especially apparent when around {{Term|BotW|Link|link}}. He is often boastful about his capabilities and is often unwilling to admit defeat when he gets bested by an opponent, claiming he wasn't trying his best such as when he was defeated by {{Term|BotW|Windblight Ganon|link}}, where he claimed he was "only winging it". His resentment towards Link is due to envy of his higher position as well as his lack of expression rubbing him the wrong way.

Once Terrako is severely damaged, Revali and the rest of the warriors look on in sadness with Zelda over their fallen friend and Zelda becomes determined to defeat Ganon once and for all. They confront him at the sanctum where he is regaining his power, but he was impervious to all of their attacks, and Zelda tries to seal him away and her power restores some strength into Terrako, who charges upstairs to destroy itself by jumping between her and Ganon to destroy its defenses. With Ganon now vulnerable, the heroes are able to weaken him even more. Revali is a recurring character in The Legend of Zelda series.[18][8][19][name references needed]

Biography

Breath of the Wild

100 years prior to the events of Breath of the Wild, Revali was the Champion of the Rito.[4] He was known as the most skilled archer of all the Rito and could fire Arrows quickly.[15] Revali had the ability to create an Updraft that allows him to soar into the air, later named Revali's Gale after him.[20] He wielded the Great Eagle Bow, a Bow that is known for being too heavy for most Rito.[15][21] However, Revali was able to make up for this with his strength and speed, thereby allowing him to wield it while flying.[22]

The Diary of Revali documents Revali's thoughts prior to the Great Calamity, but he disputes its authenticity.[23] According to the Diary, Revali broke many of Rito Village's archery records.[24] He enjoyed the attention and praise he got from the Rito as a result of this.[25] When the elder asked him if he wanted a prize for his achievements, Revali requested that the Flight Range be built in Dronoc's Pass, so he would have a place to master a new move he had thought up.[26] While this story is unverified, the Flight Range is confirmed to have been created at Revali's request.[27] This was due to his desire to strengthen the next generation of Rito warriors, but he later opened it for children as well.[28]

In the next entry, Revali documented his efforts to improve his ascent, refusing to rest until he succeeded at his goal.[29] Young Rito children looked up to him, which inspired them to also train at the Flight Range.[30] Due to the dangerous times they lived in, Revali decided to allow the other Rito to train there as well.[31] The next day, he planned on attempting another strategy he came up with to control Updrafts.[32]

In another entry, Revali recounted rumors that Calamity Ganon would be revived, which he was hesitant to believe.[33] He recalled that the Sheikah scientist excavated Divine Beast Vah Medoh from nearby, which was supposedly used against Calamity Ganon 10,000 years prior.[34] The Royal Family of Hyrule was searching for a warrior who was not only exceptionally skilled, but also had a sacred soul that could be recognized by a Divine Beast.[35] Having learned this, Revali decided that he should be the one they choose, as it will provide an opportunity to prove himself to the world.[36]

When Zelda came to Rito Village to ask Revali to be a Champion, he asked her what their plan would be.[37] However, he regretted it when he learned that the role of the Divine Beasts would be to support Link while he faced Calamity Ganon.[38] Revali was offended at the thought of being a sidekick, but Zelda impressed upon him that the Hyrule was in danger.[39] Despite finding her words corny, Revali was struck by the sincerity Zelda had.[40] He had previously thought that Hylians only thought about themselves, but he believed that Zelda was an exception to this.[41] While he decided to accept her offer, he wanted to make her wait for it.[42]

When Revali heard that Zelda would be coming by the following day, he thought she would be overjoyed to hear his acceptance.[43] He also noted that her timing would be perfect, as he was close to perfecting his brand-new move.[44] He believes when people see it, they will know that it should have been him who was chosen to fight Calamity Ganon instead of Link.[45] Revali was amused by the thought of King Rhoam, Zelda, and Link begging him to defeat Calamity Ganon.[46]

In the "Champion Revali's Song" EX Recovered Memory, Zelda arrives at the Flight Range just in time to witness Revali attempt to summon another Updraft. Though he is able to fly upwards, he gets caught up in the Wind and is thrown back to the ground. Picking himself up, Revali chastises himself for not getting it right and resolves to push himself harder.[47] He soon spots Zelda watching him, and he reprimands her for eavesdropping.[48] She apologizes and explains that she was told by the residents of Rito Village that she could find him here.[49] Revali reasons that she is there to hear his answer about becoming a Champion.[50] Finally, he decides to accept her offer.[51] Zelda starts to thank him,[52] but Revali interrupts her.[53] Once again, he uses his Gale to create an Updraft and soars into the air. This time, he does not fall, and when he is airborn, he locks onto three of the Flight Range's Targets. Diving down, he knocks three Bomb Arrows into the Great Eagle Bow and destroys all three Targets. After landing at the bottom of Dronoc's Pass, he uses his Gale once more to launch himself upwards, destroying all of the remaining Targets. He lands on the fence outside the hut and asserts that he will be playing the biggest role in helping Link defeat Calamity Ganon.[54] He adds that if Link loses his confidence upon seeing him in action, Zelda should not to come crying to him.[55]

In order to become a Champion, Revali had to overcome a Divine Beast Tamer's Trial to prove he was worthy of taming a Divine Beast. His Trial included shooting the horn of the flame dragon Dinraal, racing down the snowy peaks while passing through Glowing Rings, and to shoot four Targets in quick succession.[56]

During "The Champions' Ballad" EX Recovered Memory, Revali attends the inauguration of the Champions in Hyrule Castle's Throne Room.[57] King Rhoam bestows upon him his blue scarf, which is a symbol of the Royal Family of Hyrule crafted by Zelda.[58] After the ceremony's conclusion, the newly-appointed Champions gather at the Hyrule Castle Gazebo. Zelda shows the Sheikah Slate off to Revali, Mipha, and Urbosa, and Revali takes it from her to inspect himself.[59] Zelda explains that it has many uses that have yet to be discovered.[60] After Revali hands the Slate to Mipha, Urbosa recounts that Zelda recently demonstrated the Camera Rune for her.[61] Intrigued by this, Mipha then asks whether she could have a favor from Zelda.[62] The Champions and Zelda then gather together as Purah holds up the Sheikah Slate.[63] She instructs Revali to move closer to the group,[64] much to his annoyance.[65] Just as Purah snaps a Picture, Daruk pulls everyone together, resulting in the Picture of the Champions.

Revali later wrote about the ceremony, where he stated that the title of "Champion" felt meaningless, since true strength comes from more than a title and a uniform.[66] However, he did admit to liking his new scarf.[67] He noted how emotionless Link appeared and remarked that there was likely nothing on his mind.[68] While he believed the stories about how Link was capable of defeating Knights of Hyrule when he was a child, he still considered himself to be stronger.[69] Switching the subject, he began to muse on ideas for his new move, though he had difficulty finding something appealing.[70]

During the "Subdued Ceremony" Recovered Memory, Revali and the other Champions can be seen attending Link's official appointment as Zelda's knight. After Daruk comments on the depressing delivery of Zelda's speech,[71] Revali reminds him that the ceremony was his idea in the first place.[72] Revali then states his disapproval of Link, thinking that Zelda agrees with him about his talent.[73] Urbosa tells him to stop, informing Revali that Zelda sees Link as a reminder of her own failures.[74]

During Link's second Recovered Memory, "Revali's Flap," Link is standing on a platform in Rito Village when Revali suddenly flies up to him using his Gale. As he lands, Revali boasts about how impressive his ability is, as very few can achieve such a feat.[75] He states that if his skills were properly used, it would be easy for them to defeat Calamity Ganon.[76] While walking around Link, Revali notes that despite the fact that he is the most skilled archer of all the Rito, he has been relegated with only assisting Link due to the fact he wields the Master Sword.[77] After gloating about how his abilities are superior, Revali suggests that they have a one-on-one fight to prove which one of them is stronger.[78] He decides that their duel should take place on Divine Beast Vah Medoh, which is currently flying in the sky.[79] Revali then mocks Link for not being able to get up to it on his own.[80] Activating his Gale once more, Revali flies into the sky, sarcastically wishing Link luck at sealing the darkness.[81]

Revali documented this encounter with Link in his Diary. While Zelda was meeting with the elder of Rito Village, he tried to speak with Link, only to be annoyed by how quiet he was.[82] Despite there being a chance of failure, he used his Gale in an attempt to get a reaction out of Link, but he was disappointed not to receive one.[83] Even after challenging him to a fight, Link showed no emotion to Revali.[84] At this point, he decided speaking to Link was a waste of time, so he flew to Divine Beast Vah Medoh to calm down.[85] In frustration, Revali wondered what was wrong with Link.[86]

Prior to Zelda's 17th birthday, Daruk approached Revali to inform him that the Champions had been asked to accompany her on the way to Mount Lanayru.[87] While he was bothered by the prospect of doing so, he still remembered how desperate Zelda appeared when she asked him to become a Champion.[88] Knowing that she had been unable to fulfill her duty, Revali was able to see how much her failure was weighing on her.[89] He admitted to having difficulty comprehending the problems of those who lack talent, though he tried his best to show sympathy.[90] While he liked Zelda, he did not believe that her efforts have been good enough.[91] Revali decided not to see her off in the morning, but he considered the prospect of joining them at sunset.[92] He hoped that this would be the opportunity for Zelda to unlock her power.[93]

In the "Return of Calamity Ganon Recovered Memory, Revali and the rest of the Champions can be seen gathered at the Lanayru Road - East Gate. After Zelda confirms that her power remains dormant, Revali steps forward to confirm she felt nothing.[94] Zelda confirms this, apologizing.[95] Their discussion is interrupted by the ground beginning to shake. Using his Gale, Revali flies upwards to see Calamity Ganon circling Hyrule Castle. Urbosa and Daruk are able to discern what has happened,[96] and when asked by Mipha if they are sure,[97] Revali states he is positive.[98] Daruk takes control of the situation and commands the Champions to return to their Divine Beasts.[99] Revali is visibly annoyed when Daruk directs Link to Hyrule Castle.[100] The Memory ends with the Champions looking up at the storm of Malice in the sky.

To reach Divine Beast Vah Medoh, Revali used his Gale to fly straight to Rito Village.[101] When he arrived, however, Medoh had already been overtaken by Windblight Ganon.[102] Despite his best efforts to fight back, Revali was defeated and lost his life.[103] Saddened by the loss of Revali, the Rito named Revali's Landing, the platform where he had his confrontation with Link, in his honor.[104]

For 100 years, Revali's Spirit remained sealed within Divine Beast Vah Medoh.[14] When Link enters during the "Divine Beast Vah Medoh" Main Quest, Revali states that while he had a feeling he would return, it was rude to make him wait for a century.[105] Deducing that Link has come to regain control of the Divine Beast, Revali directs him to the Guidance Stone from which he can receive a Map.[106]

Once Link retrieves the Map, Revali instructs him to activate Divine Beast Vah Medoh's five Terminals, which are marked by glowing points.[107] He then asks if he is ready for the challenge.[108] As Link activates the Terminals, Revali often responds sarcastically, expressing shock at how far he has been able to come.[109][110][111][112] After Link activates the final Terminal, Revali directs him to start the Main Control Unit, which is marked by another glowing point.[113] He gets pushy, telling Link to "flap to it!"[114] However, when Link attempts to activate the Main Control Unit, Malice suddenly starts to swirl around it. As Windblight Ganon appears, Revali warns that it is one of Calamity Ganon's creations and reveals that while it was responsible for his death 100 years ago, that was only because he was winging it.[103] Swallowing his pride, Revali demands that Link avenge him.[115]

After defeating Windblight Ganon, Link is finally able to activate the Main Control Unit. When he does, Revali's Spirit appears to congratulate him.[116] He proceeds to thank him for liberating his Spirit and returning Divine Beast Vah Medoh to his control.[14] Despite this, he tells Link not to be prideful for simply doing his job.[117] Since Link has proven his value, Revali decides he is worthy of Revali's Gale.[118] Bringing his wing up, a glowing green orb appears, which he throws towards Link's chest.

After passing his ability on, Revali makes the decision that it is time for him to prepare for Divine Beast Vah Medoh's strike on Calamity Ganon, though he teases Link, stating he will only do so if Link thinks he needs his help.[119] Though he invites Link to thank him, Link begins to disappear in a golden light, so Revali tells him to go.[120] Before Link leaves, Revali reminds him that his job is not finished yet, as Zelda has been waiting for a long time.[121]

Back in control of Divine Beast Vah Medoh, Revali positions it to rest atop of the spire that Rito Village is built around. Once the Divine Beast's sights are all set on Hyrule Castle, Revali states that they have a good angle on Calamity Ganon.[122] When the time comes, he encourages Vah Medoh to attack with everything it has.[123] For now, all they need to do is to wait for the moment when Link attacks the Castle.[124] He recounts how patient he and Medoh have been for the past 100 years, and he believes that the Divine Beast will be able to wait a little bit longer.[125] Now that Link is gone, Revali finally admits that Link was able to make his way to Divine Beast Vah Medoh all on his own and has accomplished something he himself had been unable to do.[126] Guessing he was wrong about Link's luck, Revali hopes that it holds up.[127]

Revali's Spirit will appear whenever Link uses Revali's Gale, soaring up with him before disappearing. His voice will also inform him when Revali's Gale has finished recharging.[128]

When The Champions' Ballad DLC Pack is active, The Diary of Revali will appear at Teba's Home after being discovered at the Flight Range.[129] After Link completes the "EX Champion Revali's Song" Main Quest, Revali expresses surprise that Link managed to pass the trial he himself went through, and he allows him to use Revali's Gale more often.[130] He adds that due to how strong Link has become, how could possibly be able to face Calamity Ganon.[131] Revali's Gale is then upgraded to Revali's Gale +.

If Link chooses to repeat his fight with Windblight Ganon in the Illusory Realm, Revali will give out additional dialogue afterwards. In the first line of dialogue, Revali asks how Rito Village is doing, and from his position, he can tell they are faring well.[132] Despite 100 years having passed and no one there knowing him, he still considers it to be his home.[133] In the second line of dialogue, Revali expresses that he and Link should have fought, as it would have settled their rivalry.[134] In his third line of dialogue, Revali alleges that The Diary of Revali was not written by him, acknowledging its misleading title.[23] In the fourth line of dialogue, Revali believes that Link is feeling anxious about facing Calamity Ganon and is seeking encouragement from him.[135] While he understands why Link would want such comfort, Revali thinks it is better to keep him in line.[136] In the fifth and final dialogue, Revali tells Link not to ask Zelda about him.[137] Since it has been a century, he also reasons that her memory may not be what it used to be.[138]

When Link faces Calamity Ganon in the Astral Observatory, all freed Divine Beasts will unleash their attacks. Revali states that his time has come, and he warns Ganon to brace himself for his revenge.[139] On its own, Revali's attack will drain 12.5% of Calamity Ganon's health. When combined with the other Divine Beasts' attacks, a total of half of Calamity Ganon's health will be drained.

After Dark Beast Ganon has been defeated, Revali's Spirit can be seen on top of Hyrule Castle with King Rhoam and the other Champions. When Zelda and Link turn to face them, they will be gone.

Tears of the Kingdom

Like the other Champions, Revali does not physically appear in Tears of the Kingdom. His Great Eagle Bow can originally be seen being carried by Teba, having become a prized possession of his.[140] At the end of the "Tulin of Rito Village" Main Quest, Teba passes it down to his son, Tulin, in recognition of him becoming a warrior.[141][142]

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity

After learning of Hyrule's dark future from the Diminutive Guardian Terrako, Princess Zelda travels to the four corners of Hyrule for potential Champions who will pilot the Divine Beasts in their respective regions. Among one of them is Revali, who lives in Zora's Domain with the rest of his tribe.

In the Revali, the Rito Warrior Scenario, Revali's village had suffered continuous attacks from monsters led by the mysterious Malice infected Dimunitive Guardian which Revali and his army had barely managed to hold off. As a result, the Rito have since been on high alert for any Guardian activity.[143] Upon receiving a report about a similar Guardian, Revali was annoyed,[144] and orders them to attack immediately. Revali swears that he will defend the very village he was born in,[145] before using Revali's Gale to soar. He first attacks Link's party after mistaking Terrako for Harbinger Ganon, the one that had brought a horde of monsters to attack Rito Village. Upon confrontation, Link and Revali start to fight, with Link managing to hurl Revali against the barricade and the Rito warrior taking off unfazed and shoots a Bomb Arrow into the air and quickly circles and kicks Link into danger but Terrako alerts Link on the falling Bomb Arrow which explodes in midair. This doesn't stop Revali as he fires three Bomb arrows to create a smokescreen and states that Link thinks he is good, and quickly comes out of the smoke to attack Link from behind and declares that his own skills are superior.[146] but Zelda managed to stop them just before they are about to kill each other.[147] After this battle, Revali explains what happened that led him and his army to attack them. Zelda is relieved that neither Link nor Revali were harmed, regardless. Impa is interested on the topic about a Guardian similar to Terrako. Revali accepts his call to pilot Divine Beast Vah Medoh to counter Calamity Ganon,[148] before turning his attention to another person as he walks over to him.[149] He expresses skepticism about Link's role as Zelda's appointed knight as well as his being chosen to face Ganon directly,[150] as he saw Link as his rival. Terrako suddenly whistles, startling everyone including Revali,[151] and Impa explains that Terrako dubbed itself a knight in Zelda's service as well, much to Revali's astonishment,[152] but he scoffs it off.[153]

In The Yiga Clan Attacks! Scenario, as the Champions fight back against Sooga, the Yiga Clan, and Ganon's monsters, Revali comes up with the pincer attack strategy by attacking from both sides of the enemy stronghold.[154]. After doing so, Revali notices that the Yiga Clan are fleeing, he issues a direct attack against the stronghold.[155] When they find a Hinox inside the stronghold, Revali didn't want to waste any time against it, but could not shake off the concern if it were to head into Castle Town.[156]

In the Freeing Korok Forest Scenario, when the Champions and Princess Zelda overlook Korok Forest at a high cliff, Revali steps forward and recalls how King Rhoam had chosen them for their part in driving back Calamity Ganon and is quite honored to excel.[157] Then Revali, still distrustful of Link, begins to sprout insults to his face,[158] to which Daruk stands up for Link and reminds him that they're dealing with the situation together.[159] Revali dismissed his words, stating that Medoh is the key to their sure victory,[160] before returning to harshly taunt Link,[161] until Urbosa lets him know they had enough of his attitude.[162] Relenting, Revali summons Divine Beast Vah Medoh to deal with the worst of the monsters to show them what he is capable of.[163] Once the threats are dealt with, Revali descends and lets them know it's safe to proceed into Korok Forest as and rejoins them.[164] During their expedition, Mipha notes on the mist that blankets the woods, which a flustered Revali begins to rant about their progress.[165] Daruk remarks that he could just fly and find the way,[166] only for Revali to snap at him for it.[167] They soon encounter the music loving Hestu, who is on his way to the forest clearing but is nervous about the monster infestation, which Revali rudely suggests to Hestu that he shouldn’t be having his maracas on him,[168] and Urbosa tells Hestu not to listen to him before offering to protect him along the way,[169] to Hestu's joy as he excitedly leads the way, with Revali shrugging before joining them. They notice strange appearances of Malice in the forest and four evil Malice doppelgangers of the Champion Pilots, including Revali called Hollows,[170] which are created by Astor, a mysterious seer who teamed up with the Yiga Clan to ensure that Hyrule's dark future happens. After Link pulls the Master Sword to protect Zelda from Astor and the Hollows, Revali and the rest rejoin them and listen to the Great Deku Tree's words. It was from there that Princess Zelda really starts to worry about her progress at accessing her sealing power before Calamity Ganon arrives.

In The Road Home, Besieged Scenario, Revali is seen again with the Champions and the Hylian soldiers escorting Zelda home, and soon stops when the princess stops as anxiety kicks in. Terrako plays her lullaby to ease her mind before a disruption occurs, prompting the Champions and everyone to take action. After taking care of the monsters, the Champions are promoted and granted blue cloths with their Divine Beast emblems embedded on them; Revali swaps out his white tribal scarf with his new blue scarf. He is later seen relaxing outside with the Champions after all the excitement, but when Impa and Terrako begin to fight, they eventually invade Revali's space, driving him insane and insist that they take it somewhere else,[171] but when they don't, he loses his temper,[172] and quickly flies away to regain his lost composure.[173] Revali and the Champions return home to prepare for the worst as King Rhoam sent troops to Akkala Citadel and Fort Hateno to protect those strongholds as the fall of either of those two would spell disaster for Hyrule, and had the civilians evacuated to minimize the casualties as it was found that Ganon is set to return on Zelda's 17th birthday as revealed by Terrako.

In the Calamity Strikes Scenario, a few days later, Revali is seen at the top of the Hebra Tower where he witnessed Calamity Ganon surrounding Hyrule Castle with Malice,[174] and the shaking ground has him stricken with terror as he saw the Sheikah Towers across Hyrule begin to shut down. Revali was left with no choice but to board Vah Medoh to launch a counterstrike. Link, Impa, and Princess Zelda postpone their journey to the Spring of Wisdom due to the situation and the latter's father being in danger and is unable to protect him as he is supposedly killed by the Guardians. As the princess despaired over how badly things are going and Terrako summons four Gates of Time that head to the Divine Beasts. Impa notices that Vah Medoh's circuitry still pulses blue indicating that Revali is still alive but with Malice trailing off it, it showed that he, along with the other Champions are in serious danger as they travel to their locations to save them.

In the Air and Lightning Scenario, Revali is revealed to be attacked by Windblight Ganon and made attempts to fight back but was forced into the defensive by dodging its cannon lasers. He soon cries out in pain when he gets struck in his left wing and tried to brush it off,[175] as he is sent flying and Windblight aims both its cannons at Revali to fatally shoot him down. Before the demon could take his life, a time portal appears and summons Teba from the future, who then shoots arrows to intercept the monster's aim away from Revali, giving the Rito Champion time to recover and get back into the fight. Teba distracts Windblight for a while to give Revali an opening,[176] and Revali used his gale to get a clear shot from above,[177] as he shoots bomb arrows only for Windblight Ganon to block it. Teba is shocked that the phantom is still going strong,[178] but Revali sees that help has arrived and reassure him of this,[179]. After Link and the group force Windblight Ganon into retreat, they are joined by Urbosa and Riju and as Urbosa was thanking everyone for their help, Revali approaches Link,[180] and gives his gratitude in a rather begrudging fashion,[181] shocking Teba who was about to comment on Revali's behavior,[182] when Urbosa cuts him off before he could say something regretful before turning to inquire Zelda about Hyrule Castle's fate.[183] After hearing of the fall of Hyrule Castle, Revali takes Teba and they join forces to defend western Hyrule. Teba takes down the corrupted Guardian Skywatchers targeting Revali and the latter returns the favor by taking out the other foes pursuing Teba, who could not help but to be amazed by Revali's skills.[184] Revali stands his ground as he prepares to show the full extent of Divine Beast Vah Medoh's power.[185] Windblight returns in one last attempt at not only killing Revali, but Teba as well so it could take Medoh under Ganon's control and is joined by Thunderblight Ganon, but Revali was ready for them and unleashed his full wrath, in its purest form, upon them as he destroyed them, and secured western Hyrule.

In the Guardian of Remembrance DLC, EX Searching Hyrule Forest Scenario, Revali witnessed a mysterious Rito child wandering in the forest but quickly loses him. He then lets Teba know of this, and the latter is horrified and pleads with Revali to help find the missing child and his fears are not helped by the fact that there are lots of monsters loitering in there. Revali notes that the child resembles Teba and never saw a child like him in Rito Village in his own time. After some searching, they find the child, who is revealed to be Teba's son, Tulin who somehow ended up in the past and looked after by tiny creatures, and the Rito Captain offers to guard him as they make their way out as Teba doesn't want to leave him out on his own. As they reach their original destination, looking to be a dead end, Revali laments that they have no way out without the help of the Koroks, but Tulin's knowledge of the forest and sensing the wind allowed him to reveal the passageways to the real exit.

Upon reaching the exit, Teba tells Tulin to thank Revali since he saved his life[186] and the young boy complies.[187] Once Tulin goes in front of Revali to do so,[188] Revali smiles a bit and praises him for his bravery which he finds pretty good for someone so young.[189] Tulin becomes delighted,[190] and excitedly tells him that he is training to reach his level and hopes to wield the Great Eagle Bow.[191] Revali reminds him that he could have been killed by the monsters and notes that he is still happy despite having gone through an ordeal that otherwise would have frightened kids Tulin's age,[192] and turns to Teba as he adds that he might one day master the wind.[193] Teba agrees but adds that Tulin has to surpass his own father first and foremost.[194] Tulin gives off an imitation of Revali,[195] making Teba laugh before stopping himself since Revali is right next to him and the slightly miffed Rito Champion asked if that was supposed to be an impression of him.[196] Having seen the father-son bond as well as Tulin's hero worship and humorous side, Revali could not contain the rising joy and humor inside of him and lets out a laugh that caused him to lean his head back and hold his stomach as Teba, and Tulin follow.[197] As they calm down, Tulin attempts Tulin's Tornado, his own version of Revali's Gale, but he ends up falling on his back,[198] as Teba walks up to him,[199] as an amused Revali reminds him that he has a long way to go, affectionately giving him a nickname of "kid".[200]

In the Each Step Like Thunder Scenario, after some time, Revali, along with Mipha and Daruk assist Urbosa and Riju with the excess monsters that surround them as they defend Fort Hateno. It was there that Princess Zelda awakens her power to protect Link from Astor and the recreated Phantom Ganons, made from the souls of the Yiga Clan that Astor had harvested to do so, prompting Master Kohga and the surviving Yiga Clan members (minus Sooga whose fate is left uncertain) to side with the Hyrulean Army and Purah creates and activates a failsafe that disables a large number of corrupted Guardians that made up a huge portion of Ganon's army, turning the tides in Hyrule's favor, especially with both Akkala Citadel and Fort Hateno successfully secured.

In the All Hyrule, United Scenario, The Champions, present and future, with the Divine Beasts as well as the armies of all the races in Hyrule are later summoned to Hyrule Field by Purah, who supercharged the Sheikah Towers to the max. A much more relaxed Revali is happy to get a chance at flaunting their magnificence,[201] and Teba encourages him to show off his Rito pride.[202] as Zelda gives a rousing speech to not give in to despair and with her surviving father's approval, she takes command of the united Hyrulean Army. Ganon raises its defenses to prevent the Champions from attacking it so Link and everyone on the ground takes out the monsters that hold up the barrier and Zelda used her power to dispel it even more. At Zelda's orders, Revali opens fire at Calamity Ganon to weaken it alongside the other three Champions.[203][204][205][206] However, the sky turns red as the Blood Moon rises, reviving all of the fallen monsters, but in spite of this, they prevailed.

In The Future of Hyrule Scenario, after persevering over the constant revivals, Zelda leads the ground army while Revali and Teba charge from the air with the Rito forces to confront Astor and Harbinger Ganon. The Blight Ganons are destroyed for good, and Harbinger Ganon and Astor are also defeated. Astor enters into a violent breakdown as he orders Ganon to devour the heroes, but Ganon, as Sooga had forewarned about mortals trying to control him, absorbs the seer to take on a new form and some of its Malice had possessed Terrako, who attempts to resist it before succumbing to Ganon's influence leaving Link and Zelda with no choice but to battle it. Once Terrako is severely damaged, Revali and the rest of the warriors look on in sadness with Zelda over their fallen friend and Zelda becomes determined to defeat Ganon once and for all. They confront him at the sanctum where he is regaining his power, but he was impervious to all of their attacks, and Zelda tries to seal him away and her power restores some strength into Terrako, who charges upstairs to destroy itself by jumping between her and Ganon to destroy its defenses. With Ganon now vulnerable, the heroes are able to weaken him even more. Link charges the Master Sword as he runs towards Calamity Ganon as Daruk,[207] and Revali,[208] motivate him as Link clives Ganon and Zelda managing to successfully seal him away forever, restoring peace to Hyrule. With their purposes now served, Sidon, Yunobo, Teba, and Riju are being sent back to their own timelines and Teba,[209] and Revali,[210] exchange good-byes as Zelda vows to never forget the miracles that was brought by them and wishes them a bright future as they are returned to their own time.

In the Terrako's Return Quest, Hyrule is safe from Ganon, and since Terrako was responsible for all the miracles that kept the Champions alive, the Divine Beasts under Hyrulean control, still and turning the tide altogether, everyone including Revali decide to repay it for its efforts by searching for its fifty components across Hyrule and bringing them to the Hyrule Royal Lab, where Terrako is reconstructed. When Terrako isn't responding, everyone is worried and Revali reassures that it's taking its time to become fully alert,[211] which Impa agrees and tries to wake it up herself before Zelda stops her and steps in front of it. With the presence of its original creator, Terrako becomes fully functional, much to the relief of everyone, and even Revali cracks a smile before turning away as Zelda hugs it, crying tears of joy as Terrako mistook it for sadness and plays her lullaby once more. During the credits scene following Terrako's restoration, the Dimunitive Guardian visits all of its friends and paid a visit to Rito Village to greet Revali, who pets it hello before allowing it to ride on his back as he flew, showing that they are on much better terms than they were earlier. Revali is seen again at Hyrule Castle with all of the warriors as he joins his friends in a group hug as the others look on.

During the DLC ending, Teba, Revali, and Tulin are hanging out at the Flight Range. Revali is seated at the corner with Tulin sleeping on his lap and he manages to stop the blanket from blowing away as Teba enjoys watching them bond since their first meeting. Revali is seen with Link, Zelda, and the present and future Champions and they talk among themselves and Terrako joins in and made them smile. During the final cutscene, Revali and the Champions are at the Sheikah Tower, having each returned to their original attires as they watch Princess Zelda and Terrako fly off on a paraglider, showcasing the growth that Zelda had undergone, from being an insecure and anxious girl, to being more self-assured and upbeat young woman. She takes in the beauty of the scenery and notes that all of their efforts are worth it.

  • During a bonus session of the documentary about the making of Breath of the Wild, sound director Hajime Wakai stated that Revali is his favorite character.[212]
  • In Breath of the Wild, Revali's design was finalized before the rest of the Rito.[213] His appearance was based on a bird of prey.[213]
