Fuels are Items in Breath of the Wild.[1]

Location and Uses

Fuel is used to power the Master Cycle Zero in The Champions' Ballad Downloadable Content Pack. When first obtained, the Master Cycle Zero begins with a full tank of Fuel. Fuel is consumed whenever the A Button is held when the Master Cycle Zero is running while touching the ground. The Master Cycle Zero's tank can be refilled by converting Materials into Fuel,[1] which is done by placing them into its Fuel tank located directly beneath the seat. The Fuel tank automatically opens while Link is facing the Master Cycle Zero and holding Fuel, allowing him to simply drop the Materials inside. All Materials can function as Fuel, though some Materials are more effective than others and provide Fuel at different rates.

A full Fuel tank contains 1,000 units of Fuel. Each Fuel unit is equivalent to 0.36 seconds of power, meaning that Fuel is consumed at a rate of roughly 2.777... units per second. As a result, the Master Cycle Zero is able to run continuously on the ground for a total of 360 seconds (six minutes) before running out of Fuel.

Each Material provides Fuel equivalent to increments of 10.0, 25.0, 50.0, 75.0 and 100.0 units each. Additionally, all Materials that offer a base of 10.0 Fuel units also provide a 2× multiplier which is applied after the sum is found. This multiplier effect stacks exponentially (with a maximum of , as Link is only able to hold up to five Materials at a time), allowing for Materials to provide significantly more Fuel than normal.

The lowest possible increase to an empty Fuel tank is 20.0 units, equivalent to 7.2 seconds of power. Conversely, the most efficient single Fuel input to reach 1,000 units is equivalent to three Apples and two Fairies, , equaling 1,280 units of Fuel.[note 1] The maximum possible combination of Materials is equivalent to five Fairies, , equaling 1,600 units of Fuel. However, any units of Fuel above 1,000 will simply disappear, wasting the full potential of the Materials used in both cases.
