The '''Gemesaur King''' is a boss that appears in {{ALBW}}, and is the Lorulean counterpart of the [[Helmasaur King]]. Unlike the Helmasaur King, who is a bulky ranged attacker, the Gemesaur King is an agile physical attacker. This can be noted due to the facts that he does not breath fire, but prefers to charge at Link, and that he is very quick, but does not take too many hits to defeat (if attacks are executed well).

Template:Boss

The Gemesaur King is a boss that appears in A Link Between Worlds, and is the Lorulean counterpart of the Helmasaur King. Unlike the Helmasaur King, who is a bulky ranged attacker, the Gemesaur King is an agile physical attacker. This can be noted due to the facts that he does not breath fire like his Hyrulean counterpart, but prefers to charge at Link, and that he is very quick, but does not take too many hits to defeat (if attacks are executed well).

Location and Access

The Gemesaur King's lair is located at the bottom of the Palace, and is guarded by a large gate which can only be opened by letting in light from the top floor. The room includes two torches in two of its corners, and several candles around the wall which lead towards a large Helmasaur mask. In it hides the painting of Gulley.

Strategy

The strategy to defeat Gemesaur King is to throw three bombs at its iron mask just like in Template:ALTTP. While doing this, if a bomb explosion hits any of the crystals on its back rupees will be dropped. These rupees can be collected, but they will all break off after the mask is broken. Once the mask is broken, it will attempt to confuse Link by turning the room pitch black. It will dash around the room and try to trample Link, so he must use the Lantern to light the two torches in the bottom right corner and the top left. This will reveal him and he will stop dashing. Then Link can slash at the jewel at his head, repeatedly; eventually the monster will fall and Link will be victorious.

Trivia

  • Its name is a portmanteau of 'gem' (due to the boss having rupees lodged in its body), and Helmasaur King, the Hyrule counterpart of the Gemesaur King.
