Dinolfos are a recurring enemy in Template:LZS.

They are the stronger relatives of Lizalfos, and are similar in appearance but are larger with more violent-looking features, including bodies covered in spines, and heavier black armor. They attack with swords and shields and breathe fire. In Majora's Mask, they are called Dinofols, and in Twilight Princess, they are called Dynalfos.

Appearances

Ocarina of Time

In Ocarina of Time, Dinolfos appear in the Gerudo's Training Ground and in Ganon's Castle. They fight identically to Lizalfos. They can be defeated by using the Shield to block their hits, and then attacking with the Sword once they let their guard down.

Majora's Mask

In Majora's Mask, their names are misspelled as Dinofols. One first appears as the mini-boss of the Woodfall Temple, where Link must defeat it to receive the Hero's Bow. They are slightly different from their Ocarina of Time incarnation as they use different blades, wear different armor, and are able to breathe fire. They are also slightly weaker.

More Dinofols appear in the Snowhead Temple, the Secret Shrine, where Link faces three at once, and in the Moon.

Twilight Princess

In Twilight Princess, Dinolfos are called Dynalfols. They appear in the Temple of Time. They can be easily beaten by counterattacking with Hidden Skills, and are susceptible to the Shield Attack and the Helm Splitter. They can also be pelted with Bomb Arrows from a distance, however these will only work before they can spot Link. The Ball and Chain can also be used to get through their shields, allowing Link to easily hack away with the Sword.

It is difficult to perform the Ending Blow to Dynalfos, as they are quick to jump back onto their feet once knocked down. It is still possible to execute however provided if Link is fast enough.

Other Appearances

Hyrule Warriors

In Hyrule Warriors, Dinolfos, also known as Dinolfos Chieftains, serve as Captains in several Forces, especially Volga's Forces. They attack similarly to Lizalfos Captains, except they are significantly stronger and more aggressive.
