Mazaal
Template:Boss Mazaal is the boss of the Fortress of Winds, the third dungeon in The Minish Cap. Mazaal is very similar in appearance to Gohdan from The Wind Waker, and the battle plays out somewhat similarly as well.
Strategy
Like with Gohdan, Link must shoot arrows at the targets on Mazaal's hands to disable them. However, this time he must follow up with his sword to stop them completely. After both hands have been disabled, the head will drop and Link can then shrink to Minish size and enter through the mouth. Inside, Link will find a set of six pillars, one of which will be vulnerable to attack. Later in the match, the head will be filled with dirt and Link will have to use the Mole Mitts to dig his way through and find the vulnerable pillar.
After three rounds, Mazaal will fall and Link will be able to move on to the next room, where he will find that the Wind Element was no longer there—the Wind Tribe had taken it with them when they moved into the skies. Instead, he was left with the Ocarina of Wind, a mysterious instrument which allowed him to summon a bird named Zeffa to carry him to any of the Wind Crests scattered across Hyrule.
