(Man, that trivia is awful, just gonna kill it. Nevermind that Dodongos often have four legs in many games, just not in OoT and MM.)

Template:Boss King Dodongo is a boss in Ocarina of Time. He is the second boss Link must defeat in order to obtain the Goron's Ruby from Darunia.

Strategy

Link must fight King Dodongo in a room with a lava pit in the middle. King Dodongo will attack by sucking in a massive amount of air to blow out fire, or by roll into a ball and attempt to run Link over.

While he is sucking in air, Link can take out one of his own Bombs or one from a Bomb Flower nearby, and throw it into his mouth. The explosion will cause him to get stunned, moment when he is vulnerable to Sword attacks. He then rears up, rolls into a ball, and tries to run over Link. In order to avoid this, Link can either stand on the small slope between the lava and the arena, stand in one of the corners, or simply hide beneath or behind the Shield. When King Dodongo hits the wall at the other end of the arena, unfolding and repeating the process again. When defeated, King Dodongo curls into a ball nd rolls into the lava pit, frying himself to a crisp, leaving a Heart Container.

Non-canon Appearances

Hyrule Warriors

King Dodongo from Hyrule Warriors

King Dodongo is set to appear as a boss in the upcoming Hyrule Warriors. In the original trailer for the game, he appeared unchanged from his form in Ocarina of Time, but has since been redesigned to have a golden yellow colour to his scales and two huge horns either side of his head. He retains his same behavior and weaknesses, rolling up into a ball to attack and even smash through walls, and being vulnerable to Bombs thrown down his throat, which stun and weaken the beast. In the E3 demo, if not dealt with, King Dodongo will attack Hyrule Castle.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

King Dodongo appears as a Sticker in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
