Satori Mountain,(BotW | TotK)[1][2] also known as the Strange Mountain,(BotW)[3] is a recurring location in The Legend of Zelda series.

Features and Overview

Breath of the Wild

Satori Mountain is located on the southern end of Hyrule Ridge. Many Ore Deposits, Rare Ore Deposits, and Luminous Stone Deposits appear throughout the Mountain. On top of the Mountain is a Cherry-Blossom Tree, which sits beside a small pond. Rutile Lake also rests on Satori Mountain's western foothills, and Mogg Latan Shrine can be found near its peak. Despite the Mountain's points of interest, travelers rarely make the journey to visit it.[4]

The Lord of the Mountain on Satori Mountain

Occasionally, the top of Satori Mountain will glow green. During this time, the Lord of the Mountain and a group of Blupees will appear near the cherry blossom Tree.[4] A variety of Creatures will also appear on Satori Mountain and in Rutile Lake, which is supposedly a result of being called there by the Lord.[4][5][6] The Stals that are usually present on the Mountain will remain dormant during this night. However, if Link disturbs the Lord of the Mountain, it will flee, which causes the green light to fade and all of the Creatures visiting the Mountain will vanish.[4][7]

In the past, Quince ventured to Satori Mountain, hoping to hunt the Creatures that gather there and sell their Meat.[3] While there, he met a Hylian Retriever puppy, Satty, who he gave some of his jerky to.[8] After Quince fell asleep, he awoke to the Lord of the Mountain nearby, which began to charge at him.[9] However, he was saved by Satty, who jumped between him and the Lord.[10] When the Lord of the Mountain recoiled, Quince took the opportunity to grab Satty and flee from Satori Mountain.[11]

As part of the "EX Ancient Horse Rumors" Side Quest, which is exclusive to The Champions' Ballad DLC Pack, Link reads the Super Rumor Mill V3 at Highland Stable.[12] The Book details rumors about Ancient Horse Gear, claiming that the Ancient Bridle can be found underneath a cherry blossom Tree on a mountain.[13] Near the cherry blossom Tree on Satori Mountain, Link will find a metallic EX Treasure Chest embedded in the ground. Using Magnesis, he can free the Chest, which contains the Ancient Bridle.[14]

Many Treasure Chests can be found throughout Satori Mountain. In total, these Chests contains one Opal, one Topaz, one Forest Dweller's Spear, one Forest Dweller's Bow, five Ice Arrows, one Purple Rupee, and two Silver Rupees.

A total of 15 Korok Seed Puzzles are located on Satori Mountain. Each time Link solves one of these Puzzles, a Korok will appear nearby as a result. It will then give him a Korok Seed as a reward for finding it.[15] Their locations are as follows:

  • A Natural Hiding Spot, taking the form of a Rock under a Pile of Leaves north of Rutile Lake.
  • A Natural Hiding Spot, taking the form of a Rock hidden under a pile of bombable rocks north of Rutile Lake.
  • A Flower Trail north of Rutile Lake.
  • A Boulder that must be rolled into a hole south of the Mountain's peak.
  • A Natural Hiding Spot, taking the form of a Rock underneath a Boulder south of the Stalnox.
  • A Jar in a fallen Tree on the southern end of the Mountain, which Link must break using Archery.
  • A Natural Hiding Spot, taking the form of a Rock in a Tree Stump east of the Mountain's peak.
  • Leaves with Fairy Dust on top of a dead Cedar Tree near the Apple Tree grove.
  • A Jar in a large Tree's hollow on the Mountain's eastern end.
  • A group of Balloons that appear when Link stands near the Pinwheel on the northeast side of the Mountain.
  • A Rock Pattern west of Satori Mountain's peak.
  • A Natural Hiding Spot, taking the form of a Rock in the cherry blossom Tree.
  • A Natural Hiding Spot, taking the form of a Rock under a Pile of Leaves near Mogg Latan Shrine.
  • A Flower Trail starting at the Mountain's peak.
  • A Race, which starts near the Mountain's Stalnox.
