The Toh Yahsa Shrine,[1] designated by the Trial name Buried Secrets,[1] is an Ancient Shrine in Breath of the Wild.

Entrance to the Shrine

Toh Yahsa Shrine is initially buried beneath the ground on the Thundra Plateau. Thundra Plateau is constantly under the effects of a Thunderstorm, which can be seen from a distance. When Link approaches the Plateau, he hears the voice of a Monk presenting him with a Trial.[2] The voice instructs him to place the four spheres found around the Plateau into their corresponding placeholders, which will reveal the Ancient Shrine.[3] This initiates the "Trial of Thunder" Shrine Quest.

Once Link has retrieved and correctly placed the four spheres, Toh Yahsa Shrine will rise from the ground, completing the Shrine Quest.[4] As Link enters the Ancient Shrine, he is greeted by its Monk, Toh Yahsa.[5]

Themes and Navigation

When Link enters the Toh Yahsa Shrine, he will be standing on a platform in front of several destructible blocks. The blocks are in a rectangular shape that is two blocks tall, five blocks long, and three blocks wide, with a "T" shape hole at the end. If Link blows them up with a Remote Bomb, he can find a metallic box hidden underneath.

Link can use the metallic block to Climb to the other side of the platform , where he has access to a Ladder. At the end of the Ladder are more destructible blocks, behind which is another Ladder. This Ladder leads to a portcullis, and the Monk's Pedestal that marks the end of the Ancient Shrine can be seen past it.

Underneath the second Ladder, blocked by more destructible blocks, is a Floor Switch. Since the Switch is too big for Link to press down, he must use the metal block from earlier to do so. When this is done, the portcullis blocking the Monk's Pedestal will be raised.

After opening the portcullis, Link can approach Toh Yahsa, who will commend him for completing the Ancient Shrine and grants him a Spirit Orb.[6] The Monk then wishes Link well before fading away.[7]

There are two Treasure Chests that can be found within Toh Yahsa Shrine. The first Chest can be found on a platform to the right of Link when he enters the Ancient Shrine. Link is able to use the metallic block to knock it onto the ground, retrieving the Opal inside. The second Treasure Chest is hidden behind a destructible wall right below the platform Link first enters on. If Link blows up the wall, he can find a Treasure Chest containing the Rubber Tights.
