In A Link to the Past, Arrghus is the boss of the Swamp Palace, where it is the guardian of the second Crystal. Arrghus appears densely surrounded by multiple Arrgi. These Arrgi and the creature's ability to float make it invulnerable to normal attacks. Its method of attack is to send the Arrgi swirling outwards. The Arrgi must be pulled away using the Hookshot and then defeat with the Sword. It is similar to its other variants, except that it greatly resembles a stone and is covered by smaller rocks. The Links must use the Boomerang to pull the rocks off of it and then hack them with the Sword. Once all of the small rocks have been destroyed, Stone Arrghus starts attacking the Links. When defeated, it disintegrates and releases the Yellow Maiden.

Etymology

It is likely that the name "Arrghus" is a reference to Argus Panoptes, an all-seeing hundred-eyed giant from Greek mythology.

The Majora's Mask mini-boss Wart shares Arrghus's Japanese name, Template:Japanese.
