Aquamentus
A type of dragon that some call a unicorn. As well as having lots of attacking power, it's a fearful opponent. It emits mean beams.

In The Legend of Zelda, Aquamentus appears as the Boss of Level 1 and Level 7 of the First Quest as well as Level-1 of the Second Quest. It guards a fragment of the Triforce of Wisdom. Aquamentus also appears in Level 4 and Level 8 of the Second Quest. Aquamentus slowly walks back and forth and periodically shoots a group of three fireballs out of its mouth.[4] Link can block the fireballs with a Magical Shield. Link can damage an Aquamentus with his Sword or Bombs, but can also attack from a distance by throwing his Sword, shooting the Bow and Arrow or using the Magical Rod. Aquamentus cannot be stunned by the Boomerang and is invulnerable to Fire. When it is defeated, a Heart Container will appear and Aquamentus may drop either a Heart, a Fairy, or one Rupee.[note 1]

Oracle of Seasons

OoS Aquamentus Sprite 2.png

In Oracle of Seasons, Aquamentus is the Boss of the first Dungeon, Gnarled Root Dungeon, a Dungeon that resembles Level-1 from The Legend of Zelda.[6] In addition to its attacks from The Legend of Zelda, Aquamentus now has the ability to charge across the room. After dashing and slamming into the wall, the Aquamentus flies back to the right side of the room. Before emitting beams, its horn will glow. Upon the dragon's defeat, Link receives a Heart Container and the first Essence of Nature, Fertile Soil.

As Link is retrieving a shard of the Triforce of Wisdom while swimming in the Black Falls, an Aquamentus appears out of a dark, underwater cave. The Aquamentus takes him to the surface while Link is riding on top of it, struggling.[2] Princess Zelda then grabs a Bomb from Link's pouch and throws it at the Aquamentus, which instantly defeats it.[7]

BS The Legend of Zelda

Aquamentus appears as the Boss of Level-1 and Level-7, and as a Mini-Boss in Level-8, in BS The Legend of Zelda. It is fought in the same manner as in The Legend of Zelda. In its latter two appearances, Aquamentus is much stronger and more animated, shooting fireballs more frequently and requiring several hits before turning blue, then finally turning red after several more hits, before being defeated.

Oracle of Seasons (Himekawa)

An Aquamentus makes an appearance in the Oracle of Seasons manga by Akira Himekawa alongside various other enemies and Bosses from the game. They swarm all at once with the Aquamentus leading the charge, while Ricky attempts to protect Link by putting him in his pouch and attacking with Tornado Punches. The Aquamentus breaths fire and while Ricky attempts to block the flames with his tornadoes, he is overwhelmed and defeated. It would have been a lost battle if it was not for the appearance of Moosh, who awakes from hibernation at just the right moment to give them a ride to safety at extremely high speed.
