Bombs are recurring items in Series, debuting in TLoZ and appearing in every game since, excluding TAoL. People like Cannon and Barnes consider Bomb-making an art and sell the explosives at their Bomb Shops. Bombs are usually obtained early in each game, and they are commonly carried in Bomb Bags. Since their first appearance, they have kept a consistent design until TP, in which they were given a more realistic appearance.

Location and Uses
Series are devices used to create explosions. Only seconds after they are set, they will typically flash red and then explode in a puff of smoke and fire. Like most items in Series that come in quantities, Series can often be found in various objects, such as Series, Series, and Series. They can also be purchased in Series or found by defeating enemies. Series can be used in a variety of ways, such as for blowing up rocks or walls, defeating enemies, and solving Series. Since ALttP, ALttP can pick up, carry, and throw Series. In some games, Series can find out which walls can be bombed by hitting or tapping them with his Series.

-
TLoZ first appear in TLoZ and can be used to damage certain enemies or reveal hidden passageways in walls within TLoZ and the TLoZ. These passageways often create shortcuts in TLoZ and lead to TLoZ in the TLoZ that contain TLoZ or TLoZ. When used, TLoZ are placed directly in front of TLoZ and explode shortly after. TLoZ can only be obtained in bundles of four by purchasing them in a TLoZ for 20 TLoZ or by defeating enemies. The only enemies that drop TLoZ when defeated are blue TLoZ, blue TLoZ, red TLoZ, red TLoZ, TLoZ, TLoZ, red TLoZ, and blue TLoZ. However, sometimes TLoZ are rewarded to TLoZ for defeating every enemy in certain rooms within TLoZ. TLoZ are needed in order to defeat TLoZ and TLoZ is usually rewarded with TLoZ for defeating every TLoZ in a room. TLoZ is always rewarded with TLoZ for defeating a TLoZ by bombing their side and hitting them once with his TLoZ. Finally an obscure message from the Old Man in Death Mountain: "10TH ENEMY HAS THE BOMB" hints to a mechanic where defeating 9 enemies and destroying the 10th with a bomb, all without getting hit, would yield more bombs.

TLoZ can hold up to eight TLoZ at the start of the game, but can purchase the ability to hold more from two TLoZ in TLoZ and TLoZ of the TLoZ and TLoZ and TLoZ of the TLoZ. The first upgrade raises TLoZ's TLoZ capacity to 12 and the second raises it to a maximum of 16 TLoZ. Each upgrade costs 100 TLoZ.

In ALttP, Bombs can be obtained either by finding them in objects or Treasure Chests, by defeating enemies, or purchasing them in a Shop, such as the Bomb Shop in the Dark World. Here Link can buy 30 Bombs for 100 Rupees. Bombs can be used to damage certain enemies or destroy loose rocks, cracked floors, or crumbling walls within Dungeons and the Overworld. When Link uses a Bomb, it is placed in a short distance in front of him and detonates soon after. However, Link can also pick the Bomb up and throw it before it detonates. This allows Link to activate Switches from afar. Bombs are an effective item for defeating Hinoxes, who throw Bombs when Link is nearby, allowing Link to throw their Bombs back at them without using his own Bombs. Bomb Soldiers also attack Link by throwing Bombs at him. Link can destroy the Helmasaur King's mask with Five Bombs instead of the Magic Hammer. Talking Timbers will shoot a Bomb out of their mouth if Link touches their face. If Link gets hurt by a Bomb, including his own Bombs, he will take one Heart of damage. If he is wearing the Blue Mail, he will instead lose half of a Heart and if he is wearing the Red Mail, he will lose a quarter of a Heart.

Link can carry a total of 10 Bombs initially, but can increase the number of Bombs he can carry at the Pond of Happiness in Lake Hylia. Every time Link tosses a total of 100 Rupees into the Pond, the Great Fairy Venus emerges to reward him with either an Arrow or Bomb capacity upgrade. If Link chooses to upgrade his Bomb capacity, Venus will grant him the ability to carry 5 more Bombs each time until he can carry 40 Bombs. At 40 Bombs, Link can upgrade one more time, granting him a maximum capacity of 50 Bombs. All of the upgrades cost a total of 700 Rupees.

Link can temporarily use a special variety of Bomb called the Super Bomb. After completing the Ice Palace and the Misery Mire, Link can purchase the Super Bomb from the Dark World's Bomb Shop for 100 Rupees. After purchase, Link will carry the Super Bomb with him and it will detonate wherever he places it.

-
In LA, LANS can be obtained by defeating enemies, lifting certain objects such as LANS, grabbing them as LANS, or by purchasing some at the LANS. LANS can be used to damage certain enemies or destroy cracked walls and certain objects. Once used, LANS can pick up LANS to reset their detonation time, thus preventing them from exploding until thrown again. LANS cannot be hurt by his own LANS, but he can be damaged by LANS used by enemies. In addition, there are LANS-like enemies known as LANS. If LANS equips and uses both a LANS and the LANS at the same time, he can fire a LANS.

LANS can initially carry 20 LANS, but he can upgrade his carrying capacity to 60 LANS by sprinkling LANS on an underground altar to awaken the LANS. The LANS then asks LANS if he is ready to carry more LANS. If LANS agrees, the LANS will increase LANS's LANS carrying capacity.

In OoT, Bombs can be obtained in objects, by defeating enemies, or purchasing them at the Goron Shop in Goron City. Here Link can buy 5 Bombs for 25 Rupees, 10 Bombs for 50 Rupees, or 20 Bombs for 80 Rupees. Link cannot use or collect Bombs until he has obtained the Bomb Bag, the main item of Dodongo's Cavern. Link can use Bombs to damage enemies and destroy certain structures, such as walls. When Link uses a Bomb, he will pull one out of his inventory and hold it above his head as the fuse sparks. Link can then place the Bomb down or throw it. The Bomb will detonate after about four seconds, even if Link is still holding it. Link can be hurt by his own Bombs. Several large, yellow rocks can be found across the game which can be destroyed with Bombs. They often conceal Secret Grottos which house Treasure Chests and sometimes Pieces of Heart. If Link has the Shard of Agony, he can locate Secret Grottos that are hidden in the ground and can only be accessed by Bombing them open. Bombs are effective for defeating certain enemies, such as Beamos. Bombs are required in order to defeat the Boss of Dodongo's Cavern, King Dodongo.

Initially, the Bomb Bag can carry 20 Bombs. However, Link can upgrade it to the Big Bomb Bag, which holds 30 Bombs, and the Biggest Bomb Bag, which holds 40 Bombs. Link can obtain the upgrades by stopping the Hot Rodder Goron in Goron City as a child and by winning it in the Bombchu Bowling Alley Minigame. Link can also use other varieties of Bombs in -.

The Bomb Flower is a plant that appears and functions like a Bomb. Link can detonate Bomb Flowers by either picking them up after obtaining the Goron's Bracelet, setting off another Bomb near them, shooting them with an Arrow, or touching them with a burning Deku Stick. The Bomb Flower grows back shortly after being plucked or detonated. Link can also collect Bombchus, which are explosives that move on their own. When Link places them down, they move forward in a jagged line across floors, walls, and ceilings and detonate after a certain period of time or after making contact with an object or enemy.

-
In MM, Bombs can be obtained within objects, by defeating enemies, or purchasing them at the Bomb Shop in West Clock Town. Here Link can buy 10 Bombs for 30 Rupees. In order to collect and use Bombs, Link must have a Bomb Bag. Link can obtain a Bomb Bag by purchasing one at the Bomb Shop in West Clock Town for 50 Rupees. Link can carry 20 Bombs with the Bomb Bag, but can obtain the Big Bomb Bag to carry 30 Bombs and the Biggest Bomb Bag to carry 40 Bombs. Link can purchase the Big Bomb Bag for 90 Rupees at the Bomb Shop in West Clock Town after rescuing the Old Lady in North Clock Town from being robbed by Sakon the thief. Alternatively, Link can buy the Big Bomb Bag for 200 Rupees from the Business Scrub in Goron Village while wearing the Goron Mask. To obtain the Biggest Bomb Bag, Link must buy it from this Business Scrub for 200 Rupees while wearing the Goron Mask.

Link can use Bombs to damage enemies and destroy certain structures, such as walls. On the Second Day, the Honey and Darling's Shop hosts a Minigame in which Link must successfully throw Bombs into baskets while on a spinning platform.

Other varieties of Bombs in - include Bomb Flowers, Bombchus, and Powder Kegs. Powder Kegs are a special, powerful type of Bomb that can only be used by Goron Link. They are used to break the giant rocks blocking the path to Romani Ranch and the Goron Racetrack. Link can replicate the effects of Bombs by using the Blast Mask, a Mask which can cause explosions.

-
In OoS, Bombs can be obtained within objects like Pots and bushes. Link can find 10 Bombs in the Gnarled Root Dungeon. Bombs can be used to damage certain enemies and destroy cracked walls within Dungeons. Bombs are needed in order to defeat the Dodongo in Snake Remains. Certain Magic Rings affect the function of Bombs when equipped. The Blast Ring, found at the Western Coast, gives Bombs a 25% damage boost. The Peace Ring and the Bombproof Ring, which are found at random either within a Gasha Nut or after bumping into Maple. The Peace Ring prevents Bombs from exploding when Link is carrying them, while the Bombproof Ring makes Link invulnerable to his own Bombs. Link can also obtain the Bomber's Ring through a Linked Game, which allows Link to set two Bombs at the same time. A Bomb Flower also appears in - at the Lava Lake in Subrosia. Link can give the Bomb Flower to the Subrosian Smelter to open the path to the Tower of Autumn.

Location
OoS can purchase the OoS at the OoS to increase his OoS-carrying capacity by 20.

Bombs are often available in the quest if Link happens upon them. Like most items in the series that come in quantities, they can often be found in pots, bushes, Bomb Shops, and on defeated enemies. In LA, Link can only buy Bombs from the Town Tool Shop in Mabe Village after having bought the Shovel. To receive Bombs in OoA, Link must first give Queen Ambi Mystery Seeds, for which she will award him with Bombs. In most 3D Zelda games and TMC, Link is required to own a Bomb Bag before he can even use Bombs. In BotW, he instead needs the Bomb Rune for the Sheikah Slate before he can use Bombs.

The Bomber's Ring, obtained as a possible reward for getting a perfect score on the platinum Goron Dance in the past, allows Link to set two Bombs at the same time. The Peace Ring and the Bombproof Ring, which are found at random either within a Gasha Nut or after bumping into Maple. The Bombproof Ring can also be obtained as a possible reward for getting a perfect score on the gold Goron Dance in the present. The Peace Ring prevents Bombs from exploding when Link is carrying them, while the Bombproof Ring makes Link invulnerable to his own Bombs. Link can also obtain the Blast Ring through a Linked Game, which gives Bombs a 25% damage boost. Bomb Flowers also appear in - as a key plot element. Link uses a Bomb Flower to free the Goron Elder from a heavy boulder in the past. The Gorons then plant Bomb Flowers all around the Rolling Ridge.

Bombs are used to create explosions. Only seconds after they are set, they will flash red and then explode in a puff of smoke and fire. From TWW on, in many games a held or thrown bomb will cause enemies to run away in terror, making them harder to hit. In PH, Link can throw Bombs into Gust Geysers to make them explode and blow up obstacles at a higher location. In SS, Link can also throw bombs like bowling balls via an underarm swing of the Wii Remote, with even being capable of giving the bomb a spin. The Beetle can also pick up and fly with a Bomb to a new location, adding depth to the Bomb's usage. The number of Bombs Link can set varies from title to title. Though very useful, they have a double-edged sword quality, as they can harm Link if he is caught in the explosion, except in TLoZ and LA. When Link wears certain Magic Rings in the OoX, they affect the function of Bombs.

In FS, Bombs can be found in various Stages. They can only be used in the Stage where they were obtained. The FS can use an unlimited amount of Bombs. Although they detonate automatically, they can be detonated manually with the A button before they explode.

*Blast Ring – Bombs cause 25% more damage
-
*Bomber's Ring – Allows Link to set two Bombs consecutively
In TWW, Link obtains Bombs by completing Niko's second Rope swinging challenges in Tetra's Ship at Windfall Island. Initially, Bombs are far too expensive for Link to afford, with 10 Bombs costing 10,000 Rupees at the Bomb Shop on the southern part of Windfall Island. Link can then purchase 10 Bombs for 20 Rupees, 20 Bombs for 35 Rupees, and 30 Bombs for 50 Rupees. Link can also buy 30 Bombs for 60 Rupees from Beedle's Shop Ship. As soon Link has Bombs, he can use the Cannon on the King of Red Lions by using the Bomb item while on the boat. The Cannon allows him to fire his Bombs to distant objects and enemies in the Great Sea. If Link pulls out a Bomb near enemies, they will run away in terror to avoid the explosion. Link needs Bombs in order to defeat the Boss of the Tower of the Gods, Gohdan.
*Bombproof Ring – Link becomes invulnerable to his Bombs' blasts
*Peace Ring – Bombs will not explode as Link holds them

Quantity
At first, Link can carry 30 Bombs, but he can upgrade his Bomb carrying capacity to 60 and then 99 by visiting the Great Fairies at Eastern Fairy Island and Southern Fairy Island. except in FS, FSA, ALBW and BotW. Link can increase these limits depending on his actions. In The Legend of Zelda, an Old Man in the Lizard and Demon Labyrinths (in the Snake and Lion Labyrinths in the Second Quest), will increase the number of Bombs Link can carry at the cost of 100 Rupees. If Link tosses 100 Rupees into the Pond of Happiness in A Link to the Past, Venus will increase the carrying capacity of his Bombs if he so chooses. He may continue giving Rupees to reach a maximum of 50 Bombs. Mad Batter in Link's Awakening will give Link more Bombs if he sprinkles Magic Powder on an underground alter and awakens the creature. There are always ways to increase a Bomb Bag's capacity by finding larger Bomb Bags through mini-games or Great Fairies.

Variations
Bomb Flowers can be found on certain islands, such as Dragon Roost Island. Appearing only in the original version of -, Link can use Tingle Bombs, which can be placed remotely from the Tingle Tuner. They can be purchased from the Tingle Tuner for 10 Rupees. The Super Bomb cannot be placed in Link's inventory, he has to drag it behind him until he needs to use it. It cannot be taken over cliff edges, and Link cannot run with it, but its explosion cannot harm Link. After Link sets the Bomb, a three-second countdown will appear, after which the Bomb will create a large explosion. The Super Bomb is required to break through the cracked wall on the second level of the Pyramid of Power, where the Fat Fairy resides.

In FSA, Bombs can be found in various Stages. They can only be used in the Stage where they were obtained. The FSA can use an unlimited amount of Bombs. Certain enemies attack the FSA with Bombs, such as Bomb Soldiers. The FSA can temporarily upgrade their Bombs into Level 2 Bombs by tossing a Bomb into a Great Fairy Fountain. Level 2 Bombs are larger and have a larger blast radius. Bomb Flowers also appear in certain Stages. Bomb Flowers, which debuted in Ocarina of Time, are a special plant that are set to explode when plucked, and will regrow soon after detonating. They are necessary when Link does not have his own Bombs.

Powder Keg
Link can obtain three different Bomb Bags. Each Bomb Bag can only hold one type of Bomb, either being 30 Bombs, 15 Water Bombs, or 10 Bomblings. One of the Bomb Bags can be purchased at Barnes Bomb Shop in Kakariko Village for 120 Rupees, another can be obtained by rescuing a Goron in Zora's Domain and another can be obtained from Iza after destroying the rocks in Zora's River. If Link scores 25 points or higher in Iza's Rapids Ride Minigame, she will reward him with the Giant Bomb Bag, which doubles the capacity of each Bomb Bag to carry either 60 Bombs, 30 Water Bombs, or 20 Bomblings.
Powder Keg

Powder Kegs, appearing only in Majora's Mask, have a bigger and more powerful blast than regular Bombs. Bomb Flowers and Bombchus appear in -. The Cannon on the SS Linebeck shoots Bombs but has an unlimited supply of shots.

As soon Link receives Bombs in The Wind Waker, he can use the Cannon on the King of Red Lions by simply using the Bomb item while on the boat. The Cannon in Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks have an unlimited supply of shots, although they have to be obtained.

In the Snowpeak Ruins in Twilight Princess, there are many cannons that require the insertion of a cannonball and then a Bomb for them to activate. These cannons can blast through thick ice and any enemy in their way.
-
In ST, Link can carry 10 Bombs with the Bomb Bag, 20 Bombs with the Medium-Sized Bomb Bag, and 30 Bombs with the Large-Sized Bomb Bag. He can obtain one of them by purchasing it at Beedle's Airshop for 500 Rupees, another by beating the current record in the ST ST at Whittleton, and another by completing Level 2 of the Take 'Em All On! Minigame in Hyrule Castle Town. Link can buy 10 Bombs for 150 Rupees at Kogane's Shop in Papuchia Village and 10 Bombs for 200 Rupees at the Goron Country Store. Bomb Flowers can be found in -. The Cannon on the Spirit Train an unlimited supply of Bombs.

In FPTRR, the Stalfos Pirates' cannon is used to destroy the boulder on Mount Desma.

In addition to dropping and throwing Bombs in SS, Link can also roll Bombs with an underarm swing and can give it spin to control its direction. The Beetle can also be used to pick up and fly with a Bomb to drop it somewhere else. Link can purchase 10 Bombs for 20 Rupees once he has obtained the Bomb Bag in the SS. The Bomb Bag can hold 10 Bombs, but Link can add additional Bomb Bags to his SSHD to carry more Bombs. A SS adds 5 extra Bombs, a Medium Bomb Bag adds 10, and a Large Bomb Bag adds 15 Bombs. The maximum amount of Bombs Link can carry is 40 by equipping two Large Bomb Bags.

Tingle Bomb
Bomb Flowers appear in - in place of the traditional “man-made” design of previous installments. Because of this, Link can put plucked Bomb Flowers in his Bomb Bag before they detonate to replenish his supply.

A Tingle Bomb is an item provided by the Tingle Tuner at a cost of ten Rupees per use. It can be set wherever the Tingle icon goes onscreen. It is almost like a normal Bomb, but it is invisible, cannot be thrown, and can reveal certain hidden pots and Treasure Chests containing Tingle Statues.<ref>{{Cite|Huh? Hmmm? Tingle Bombs are only half as strong as normal Bombs are. A successful hit on an enemy will drop a yellow Rupee, covering the cost of using the Bomb. More successful hits on enemies within the same room will increase the value of the dropped Rupees, from a red Rupee to a purple Rupee. Tingle Bombs can also blow away piles of leaves.

Level 2 Bomb
The Level 2 Bomb, which is exclusive to Four Swords Adventures, is an item upgrade Link can obtain by tossing the Bomb item into a Great Fairy Fountain. ===Big Bomb===
-
In ALBW, Bombs can be obtained from Ravio's Shop. Link has an unlimited amount of Bombs, but like all items in the game, it takes up some of his Energy Gauge with each use. Bombs can be rented for 50 Rupees and bought permanently for 800.The first item purchased from Ravio always costs 400 Rupees Link can upgrade his Bombs to Nice Bombs by bringing 10 Lost Maiamais to Mother Maiamai. The upgrade improves the attack damage and blast radius of the Bombs. In addition to Bomb Flowers, a special type of Bomb Flower known as the Big Bomb Flower appears in -.
The Big Bomb makes its first appearance in Four Swords Adventures, where it is often referred to as a Giant Bomb. It is not a helpful item, except in Shadow Battle, as its blast can KO a Link instantly if he is in range. Big Bombs are usually dropped by Shadow Link, but they will also appear in chests.<ref>{{Cite|You got a Big Bomb! This will blow everything to smithereens! ===Bombling===

Bombling
Start

Bombs serve as Link's down special move in SSB. When used, Link pulls out a Bomb that can be thrown at other Fighters to cause damage with an explosion on impact. Link will take damage by his own Bombs if he holds on to one by the time it detonates, or if other Fighters catch one thrown by Link and throw it back. Link can also cause damage to his teammates with Bombs. The Bomb counts as an item such that Link cannot carry another item along with bomb, and that using a bomb in single play mode will remove the "No item" bonus.
Bomblings are explosive creatures found in Twilight Princess. While they are just useful enemies at first, they can be added to Link's Bomb inventory later on. As items, they are similar to the Bombchu, except they will not crawl up walls but rather will explode whenever they crash into something.<ref>{{Cite|You got bomblings (10)! In HW, Bombs are items kept in the inventory. They are first obtained in "The Armies of Ruin" Scenario, after Link finds them in the field's Mine Entrance. Bombs are thrown in small spurts. They are primarily used to destroy cracked walls and boulders, but can also be used to damage enemies. Some giant bosses, such as King Dodongo, are particularly weak to them and can be used to make their Weak Point Gauge expose. The Bombs can be temporarily upgraded to a giant Bomb by collecting Bomb power ups, which will throw one giant Bomb that clears a large area. Goron's Bracelet Badges in the Bazaar can be crafted to increase the duration of the upgrade.

This page is about regular Bombs, for other variants, see Bomb Flowers, Bombchus, Big Bombs, and Remote Bombs.

Bombs are recurring Items in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2][3][4][5][name references needed]

Location and Uses

Bombs are devices used to create explosions. Only seconds after they are set, they will typically flash red and then explode in a puff of smoke and fire. Like most items in The Legend of Zelda series that come in quantities, Bombs can often be found in various objects, such as Jars, Grass, and Treasure Chests. They can also be purchased in Shops or found by defeating enemies. Bombs can be used in a variety of ways, such as for blowing up rocks or walls, defeating enemies, and solving Puzzles. Since A Link to the Past, Link can pick up, carry, and throw Bombs. In some games, Link can find out which walls can be bombed by hitting or tapping them with his Sword.

Bomb
Set one of these, and Link can overpower the enemy with the explosive blast.

Bombs first appear in The Legend of Zelda and can be used to damage certain enemies or reveal hidden passageways in walls within Dungeons and the Overworld.[6] These passageways often create shortcuts in Dungeons and lead to Caves in the Overworld that contain Shops or Old Men. When used, Bombs are placed directly in front of Link and explode shortly after. Bombs can only be obtained in bundles of four by purchasing them in a Shop for 20 Rupees or by defeating enemies.[7] The only enemies that drop Bombs when defeated are blue Octoroks, blue Moblins, red Red Goriyas, red Darknuts, Vires, Gibdos, red Wizzrobes, and blue Lynels. However, sometimes Bombs are rewarded to Link for defeating every enemy in certain rooms within Dungeons. Bombs are needed in order to defeat Dodongos and Link is usually rewarded with Bombs for defeating every Dodongo in a room. Links is always rewarded with Bombs for defeating a Dodongo by bombing their side and hitting them once with his Sword. Finally an obscure message from the Old Man in Death Mountain: "10TH ENEMY HAS THE BOMB" hints to a mechanic where defeating 9 enemies and destroying the 10th with a bomb, all without getting hit, would yield more bombs.

Link can hold up to eight Bombs at the start of the game,[8] but can purchase the ability to hold more from two Old Men in Level 5 and Level 7 of the First Quest and Level 4 and Level 8 of the Second Quest.[9] The first upgrade raises Link's Bomb capacity to 12 and the second raises it to a maximum of 16 Bombs. Each upgrade costs 100 Rupees.

A Link to the Past

This section is incomplete.
Reason: Which enemies drop bombs?
You can help by adding the missing information.

In A Link to the Past, Bombs can be obtained either by finding them in objects or Treasure Chests, by defeating enemies, or purchasing them in a Shop, such as the Bomb Shop in the Dark World. Here Link can buy 30 Bombs for 100 Rupees.[10] Bombs can be used to damage certain enemies or destroy loose rocks, cracked floors, or crumbling walls within Dungeons and the Overworld.[11] When Link uses a Bomb, it is placed in a short distance in front of him and detonates soon after. However, Link can also pick the Bomb up and throw it before it detonates.[12] This allows Link to activate Switches from afar. Bombs are an effective item for defeating Hinoxes, who throw Bombs when Link is nearby, allowing Link to throw their Bombs back at them without using his own Bombs.[13] Bomb Soldiers also attack Link by throwing Bombs at him. Link can destroy the Helmasaur King's mask with Five Bombs instead of the Magic Hammer. Talking Timbers will shoot a Bomb out of their mouth if Link touches their face.[14] If Link gets hurt by a Bomb, including his own Bombs,[15] he will take one Heart of damage.

Every time Link tosses a total of 100 Rupees into the Pond, the Great Fairy Venus emerges to reward him with either an Arrow or Bomb capacity upgrade.[16] If Link chooses to upgrade his Bomb capacity, Venus will grant him the ability to carry 5 more Bombs each time until he can carry 40 Bombs.[17] At 40 Bombs, Link can upgrade one more time, granting him a maximum capacity of 50 Bombs. All of the upgrades cost a total of 700 Rupees.

Link can temporarily use a special variety of Bomb called the Super Bomb. After completing the Ice Palace and the Misery Mire, Link can purchase the Super Bomb from the Dark World's Bomb Shop for 100 Rupees.[18] After purchase, Link will carry the Super Bomb with him and it will detonate wherever he places it.

Link's Awakening

Bomb
The explosive force of the device can damage enemies or knock holes in walls. After you have placed a Bomb, you can pick it up and throw it if you act quickly. You can place only a single Bomb at a time.

In Link's Awakening, Bombs can be obtained by defeating enemies, lifting certain objects such as Jar, grabbing them as Winged Items, or by purchasing some at the Town Tool Shop. Bombs can be used to damage certain enemies or destroy cracked walls and certain objects. Once used, Link can pick up Bombs to reset their detonation time, thus preventing them from exploding until thrown again. Link cannot be hurt by his own Bombs, but he can be damaged by Bombs used by enemies. In addition, there are Bomb-like enemies known as Bombites. If Link equips and uses both a Bombs and the Bow at the same time, he can fire a Bomb Arrow.[19]

Link can initially carry 20 Bombs, but he can upgrade his carrying capacity to 60 Bombs by sprinkling Magic Powder on an underground altar to awaken the Li'l Devil. The Li'l Devil then asks Link if he is ready to carry more Bombs.[20] If Link agrees, the Li'l Devil will increase Link's Bomb carrying capacity.[21]

Ocarina of Time

Bomb
Damage enemies or blow up walls with the Bomb. Be careful not to get too close to the blast or you may get hurt. Bombs explode approximately four seconds after you pick them up.

In Ocarina of Time, Bombs can be obtained in objects, by defeating enemies, or purchasing them at the Goron Shop in Goron City. Here Link can buy 5 Bombs for 25 Rupees, 10 Bombs for 50 Rupees, or 20 Bombs for 80 Rupees. Link cannot use or collect Bombs until he has obtained the Bomb Bag, the main item of Dodongo's Cavern. Link can use Bombs to damage enemies and destroy certain structures, such as walls.[22] When Link uses a Bomb, he will pull one out of his inventory and hold it above his head as the fuse sparks. Link can then place the Bomb down or throw it. The Bomb will detonate after about four seconds, even if Link is still holding it.[23] Link can be hurt by his own Bombs.[24] Several large, yellow rocks can be found across the game which can be destroyed with Bombs. They often conceal Secret Grottos which house Treasure Chests and sometimes Pieces of Heart. If Link has the Shard of Agony,[note 1] he can locate Secret Grottos that are hidden in the ground and can only be accessed by Bombing them open.

Link can also use other varieties of Bombs in Ocarina of Time.

Press the C Button once to lift bombs above your head, then press it again to either throw them or place them at your feet. Bombs will explode after a few moments and can be used to defeat enemies or knock down walls.

In Majora's Mask, Bombs can be obtained within objects, by defeating enemies, or purchasing them at the Bomb Shop in West Clock Town. Link can purchase the Big Bomb Bag for 90 Rupees at the Bomb Shop in West Clock Town after rescuing the Old Lady in North Clock Town from being robbed by Sakon the thief.[25] Alternatively, Link can buy the Big Bomb Bag for 200 Rupees from the Business Scrub in Goron Village while wearing the Goron Mask. To obtain the Biggest Bomb Bag, Link must buy it from this Business Scrub for 200 Rupees while wearing the Goron Mask.

Link can use Bombs to damage enemies and destroy certain structures, such as walls.[26] On the Second Day, the Honey and Darling's Shop hosts a Minigame in which Link must successfully throw Bombs into baskets while on a spinning platform.

Other varieties of Bombs in Majora's Mask include Bomb Flowers, Bombchus, and Powder Kegs.

In Oracle of Seasons, Bombs can be obtained within objects like Pots and bushes. A Bomb Flower also appears in Oracle of Seasons at the Lava Lake in Subrosia. Link can give the Bomb Flower to the Subrosian Smelter to open the path to the Tower of Autumn.

Link can purchase the Red Bomb at the Subrosia Market to increase his Bomb-carrying capacity by 20.

To obtain Bombs in Oracle of Ages, Link must give Queen Ambi Mystery Seeds. She gives Link Bombs as a reward.[27] Bombs can then be obtained from objects like Pots and bushes. Certain Magic Rings affect the function of Bombs when equipped. Bomb Flowers also appear in Oracle of Ages as a key plot element. Link uses a Bomb Flower to free the Goron Elder from a heavy boulder in the past. The Gorons then plant Bomb Flowers all around the Rolling Ridge.

Use bombs to damage enemies and to blast open holes in suspicious-looking walls. Press the A Button to light bombs and press the A Button again to throw them. You can press the A Button again after bombs land to set them off quickly.

In Four Swords, Bombs can be found in various Stages. They can only be used in the Stage where they were obtained. The Links can use an unlimited amount of Bombs. Although they detonate automatically, they can be detonated manually with the A button before they explode.[28]

The Wind Waker

In The Wind Waker, Link obtains Bombs by completing Niko's second Rope swinging challenges in Tetra's Ship at Windfall Island. Initially, Bombs are far too expensive for Link to afford, with 10 Bombs costing 10,000 Rupees at the Bomb Shop on the southern part of Windfall Island.[29] However, after Tetra and her crew come and steal his Bombs, he lowers the prices.[30] Link can then purchase 10 Bombs for 20 Rupees, 20 Bombs for 35 Rupees, and 30 Bombs for 50 Rupees. Link can also buy 30 Bombs for 60 Rupees from Beedle's Shop Ship. As soon Link has Bombs, he can use the Cannon on the King of Red Lions by using the Bomb item while on the boat.[31] The Cannon allows him to fire his Bombs to distant objects and enemies in the Great Sea. If Link pulls out a Bomb near enemies, they will run away in terror to avoid the explosion. Link needs Bombs in order to defeat the Boss of the Tower of the Gods, Gohdan.

At first, Link can carry 30 Bombs,[32] but he can upgrade his Bomb carrying capacity to 60 and then 99 by visiting the Great Fairies at Eastern Fairy Island and Southern Fairy Island.[33]

Bomb Flowers can be found on certain islands, such as Dragon Roost Island. Appearing only in the original version of The Wind Waker, Link can use Tingle Bombs, which can be placed remotely from the Tingle Tuner. They can be purchased from the Tingle Tuner for 10 Rupees.[34]

Lev. 2
Watch out—there are some really big bombs out there!

In Four Swords Adventures, Bombs can be found in various Stages. They can only be used in the Stage where they were obtained. The Links can use an unlimited amount of Bombs. Certain enemies attack the Links with Bombs, such as Bomb Soldiers. The Links can temporarily upgrade their Bombs into Level 2 Bombs by tossing a Bomb into a Great Fairy Fountain. Level 2 Bombs are larger and have a larger blast radius.[35] Bomb Flowers also appear in certain Stages. A dangerous type of Bomb known as Big Bombs also appears in Four Swords Adventures. Big Bombs are dropped by Shadow Link and found as traps within Treasure Chests.[36] If the Links are hit by its blast, they will be defeated instantly and must escape to another screen to survive.[37]

The Minish Cap

Press the item button to place a bomb on the ground. Use the R Button to lift a bomb and throw it.

In The Minish Cap, Link can use Bombs when he obtains the Bomb Bag from Belari in the Minish Woods after completing the Deepwood Shrine. Link can carry 10 Bombs with the Bomb Bag, and can upgrade his carrying capacity to 30, 50, and 99 Bombs with three different Big Bomb Bags. One can be purchased at Stockwell's Shop in Hyrule Town for 600 Rupees, one can be obtained by throwing a Bomb into the Great Mayfly Fairy's fountain on Mount Crenel, and one can be obtained from a Chest at the Wind Ruins after Fusing Kinstones with Belari. Link can also obtain Remote Bombs from Belari, which are detonated manually.

Twilight Princess

Link can use many types of Bombs in Twilight Princess. In addition to regular Bombs, Link can use Water Bombs underwater and Bomblings, which are exploding creatures that run in a straight line when dropped and detonate upon contact. Water Bombs are needed in order to complete the Lakebed Temple. Bombs can be found in various objects, within Treasure Chests or can be dropped by enemies. Bombs can also be purchased at Barnes Bomb Shop in Kakariko Village. Link can buy 10 Bombs for 30 Rupees, 20 Bombs for 60 Rupees, or 30 Bombs for 90 Rupees. Link can also apply his Bombs to his Arrows, turning them into Bomb Arrows, which detonate the moment they make hit. In the Snowpeak Ruins, many Cannons can be shot after a Bomb is detonated inside them, allowing Link to blast through thick ice or enemies.

Phantom Hourglass

In Phantom Hourglass, Link can purchase a Bomb Bag from Beedle's Shop Ship for 1000 Rupees. He can also obtain a Bomb Bag by scoring 2500 points at the Cannon Game. Link can carry 20 Bombs with one Bomb Bag and can carry 30 Bombs once he obtains a second one. Link can buy 10 Bombs for 50 Rupees at the Mercay Island Shop and Molida Island Shop. Link can throw Bombs into Updrafts to blow up obstacles at the top of the Updraft.[38] Bomb Flowers and Bombchus appear in Phantom Hourglass. The Cannon on the SS Linebeck shoots Bombs but has an unlimited supply of shots.

Spirit Tracks

In Spirit Tracks, Link can carry 10 Bombs with the Bomb Bag, 20 Bombs with the Medium-Sized Bomb Bag, and 30 Bombs with the Large-Sized Bomb Bag. He can obtain one of them by purchasing it at Beedle's Airshop for 500 Rupees, another by beating the current record in the Race Minigame at Whittleton, and another by completing Level 2 of the Take 'Em All On! Minigame in Hyrule Castle Town. Link can buy 10 Bombs for 150 Rupees at Kogane's Shop in Papuchia Village and 10 Bombs for 200 Rupees at the Goron Country Store. Bomb Flowers can be found in Spirit Tracks. The Cannon on the Spirit Train an unlimited supply of Bombs.

Skyward Sword

Link using a Bomb

In addition to dropping and throwing Bombs in Skyward Sword, Link can also roll Bombs with an underarm swing and can give it spin to control its direction. The Beetle can also be used to pick up and fly with a Bomb to drop it somewhere else. Link can purchase 10 Bombs for 20 Rupees once he has obtained the Bomb Bag in the Earth Temple. The Bomb Bag can hold 10 Bombs, but Link can add additional Bomb Bags to his Adventure Pouch to carry more Bombs. A Bomb Bag adds 5 extra Bombs, a Medium Bomb Bag adds 10, and a Large Bomb Bag adds 15 Bombs. The maximum amount of Bombs Link can carry is 40 by equipping two Large Bomb Bags.

Bomb Flowers appear in Skyward Sword in place of the traditional “man-made” design of previous installments. Because of this, Link can put plucked Bomb Flowers in his Bomb Bag before they detonate to replenish his supply.

A Link Between Worlds

In A Link Between Worlds, Bombs can be obtained from Ravio's Shop. Link has an unlimited amount of Bombs, but like all items in the game, it takes up some of his Energy Gauge with each use. Bombs can be rented for 50 Rupees and bought permanently for 800.[note 2] Link can upgrade his Bombs to Nice Bombs by bringing 10 Lost Maiamais to Mother Maiamai. The upgrade improves the attack damage and blast radius of the Bombs. In addition to Bomb Flowers, a special type of Bomb Flower known as the Big Bomb Flower appears in A Link Between Worlds.

Tri Force Heroes

In Tri Force Heroes, Bombs can be used to defeat certain enemies and destroy objects. When one of the Links wears the Big Bomb Outfit, all Bombs and Bomb Flowers that Link uses turn into Big Bombs, which have an increased blast radius and inflict double damage. Bombs have a blast radius that reaches one level above or below, while Big Bombs reach two levels above or below.

Bombs first appear in the Moblin Base as one of the three Items the Links can acquire. They also appear in the Forest Temple (two Items), Bomb Storage, Floating Garden, Sky Temple (one Item per Stage), and the Fortified Zone and Baneful Zone of the Den of Trials, as well as the Coliseum's Woodlands and The Ruins arenas.

Bombs also appear in the Buzz Blob Cave, Fire Temple, The Lady's Lair, and Gibdo Mausoleum as part of the "Clear using only Bombs!" and "Only Bombs-no swords!" Drablands Challenges.

Breath of the Wild

Main article: Remote Bomb

In Breath of the Wild, Link uses the Remote Bomb Rune instead of Bombs, which allows him to control when they detonate.

SoulCalibur II

Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland

Two types of Bombs appear in Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland. The first type, Tingle Bombs, can be concocted by using two Bomb Fruits, two Gelatine, and two Explosive Claws. They are stored in Empty Jars. There are cauldrons of the concoction in Desma's Labyrinth. The second type, Nitro Bombs, are also stored in Empty Jars and are a more powerful version of Tingle Bombs. They are created with Bomb Fruits, three Gelatine, three Explosive Claws, and three Multi-Bomb Fruits. The recipe is obtained from the Stalfos Pirates' Engineer when their pirate ship is being attacked by insects.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Bombs serve as the down special move of Link and Toon Link in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Toon Link's Bombs have a larger blast radius than Link's.

Oracle of Ages (Himekawa)

When battling Veran's spider form in the Black Tower, Link spies a crate of Bombs from the Tower's construction.[39] Link tosses a Bomb at Veran,[40] momentarily blinding and stunning her.

Hyrule Warriors

Bombs are items kept in the inventory in Hyrule Warriors. They are first obtained in "The Armies of Ruin" Scenario after Link finds them in the field's Mine Entrance. Bombs are thrown in small spurts. They are primarily used to destroy cracked walls and boulders, but can also be used to damage enemies. Some giant bosses, such as King Dodongo, are particularly weak to them and can be used to make their Weak Point Gauge expose. The Bombs can be temporarily upgraded to a giant Bomb by collecting Bomb power-ups, which will throw one giant Bomb that clears a large area. Goron's Bracelet Badges in the Bazaar can be crafted to increase the duration of the upgrade.

In Adventure Mode, normal and Water Bombs appear as Item Cards. Normal Bombs are used to open cave entrances in mountain walls and to destroy boulders on land, whereas Water Bombs are used to destroy boulders on bodies of water. In the Lorule Map from Hyrule Warriors Legends, the Bomb Item Card activates the Rupee Nice Power on the Ravio Board when used.

In the A Link Between Worlds DLC Pack for Hyrule Warriors and Hyrule Warriors Legends, Ravio uses Bombs at part of the moveset for his Rental Hammer Weapon. He can bat a Bomb toward enemies with the Hammer and roll giant Bombs at enemies, shoving it away from him before it explodes.

My Nintendo Picross: Twilight Princess

The first puzzle in the Picross series and the third puzzle in the Mega Picross series depict a Bomb.

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U

Bombs are used by holding Y while also holding up on the left stick or d-pad.[42] Bombs can be used to damage or defeat most Enemies, destroy Brick Blocks, Hard Blocks, and ? Blocks, and activate ON/OFF Switches and POW Blocks.
