Template:Dungeons

The House of Gales is a dungeon in A Link Between Worlds. As with many dungeons in the game, the House of Gales is not given a certain "set" number. It can be accessed after completing the Eastern Palace, which means it is either the second or third dungeon Link must complete, before or after the Tower of Hera. It is found in the center of Lake Hylia in the lower right corner of Hyrule. Flippers and the Tornado Rod, which can be rented from Ravio's Shop for 20 rupees(It is normally 50 rupees, but Ravio will have a sale on the Hammer and Tornado Rod as they are required to enter the Hyrule dungeons), are required to enter the dungeon.

Themes and Navigation

Link travels to the House of Gales in order to acquire the Pendant of Wisdom. A number of new enemies are encountered inside the House of Gales, such as Bubbles, Baris and Heedles, the latter of which are the dungeon's Mini-Boss. The House of Gales relies heavily on the use of the Tornado Rod by hovering above moving platforms and dropping on them, and traveling on wind currents created by fans, which need to be activated by hitting switches, with the Bow, Boomerang, Hookshot or Bombs, and stepping on buttons. Fans are used to ascend floors and to hover across gaps, but the dungeon does occasionally present fans that lead to pits. This dungeon is also the introduction of fire hazards within a dungeon in ""A Link Between Worlds"", which can be snuffed by using the Tornado Rod or the Ice Rod, although the later is not necessary for navigation. [[ The boss of the dungeon is Margomill, who is fought in a large room with drops along the side, which is the only way Link can get damaged in this fight. Link must use the Tornado Rod to beat the boss, after which Link receives a Heart Container and the Pendant of Wisdom.
