The Cave of No Return is the second stage of Whereabouts of the Wind in Four Swords Adventures.[1]

Features and Overview

The Cave of No Return is found after Lake Hylia and before Hyrule Castle. Like all middle stages, the final obstacle is Shadow Link. Unique to this dungeon is the lack of adequate lighting, so the Links must put the Lamp to good use here if the young heroes are to make progress. Adding to the dark situation is the lengthy labyrinth at the level's beginnning and a puzzle at its end, both of which are under the cover of darkness. The solution to the enchanted area at the start of the level is West, North, East, and North. If the Links choose directions incorrectly, they will end up back at the beginning of the maze.

In terms of sentient life, helpful ghosts offer the Links advice right before the different challenges of the level. Lastly, a solitary Mage can be found at the entrance, snickering about the probability of getting lost while navigating the dark cavern beyond. Beyond that, the cavern is relatively void of life, save for the Rats and Bubbles that stalk the dark hallways.

Minor Enemies

  1. One disappears after four Blocks around it are pushed into the corners.
  2. Forty-seven appear once the twelve Torches are lit in the room with a large Hole in the middle.
