The Mijah Rokee Shrine,[1] designated by the Trial name A Modest Test of Strength,[1] is an Ancient Shrine in Breath of the Wild.

Entrance to the Shrine

Mijah Rokee Shrine is located in Washa's Bluff. It is initially buried underground and requires certain conditions to be met before it rises and becomes accessible.

On top of a Tree in Washa's Bluff, Link can find Kass, who reveals he knows an "Ancient Song" about the area.[2] His song describes the Monks asking one to stand bare under a bleeding moon.[3] This activates the "Under a Red Moon" Shrine Quest.

According to the "Ancient Song", the Ancient Shrine will only rise if Link stands on the nearby Pedestal while wearing no Armor on the night of a Blood Moon. If he does so, Mijah Rokee Shrine will rise from underground, allowing entry.[4]

As Link enters the Ancient Shrine, he is greeted by the its Monk, Mijah Rokee, who introduces the combat Trial.[5]

Themes and Navigation

Mijah Rokee Shrine features a large primary chamber, in which a Guardian Scout III, wielding a Guardian Sword+ and a Guardian Shield+, rises from a pit once he approaches. In order to complete the Trial, Link must defeat this Guardian Scout.

Once the Guardian Scout II is defeated, a portcullis leading to the Monk's Pedestal bearing Mijah Rokee will rise, allowing Link to pass through. The Monk will give Link a Spirit Orb for completing the Trial.[6] Mijah Rokee then wishes Link well before fading away.[7]

A Treasure Chest behind the portcullis contains a Frostblade.
