The Keive Tala Shrine,[1] designated by the Trial name Big or Small,[1] is an Ancient Shrine in Breath of the Wild. It is exclusive to The Champions' Ballad DLC Pack.

Entrance to the Shrine

The Keive Tala Shrine is found in the East Barrens of the Gerudo Desert as part of the "EX Champion Urbosa's Song" Main Quest. To access the Ancient Shrine, Link must defeat the Molduking in the East Barrens.[2] Upon its defeat, the Ancient Shrine will rise from beneath the ground on the side of a nearby mesa. As Link enters the Ancient Shrine, he is greeted by its Monk, Keive Tala, who offers the Trial.[3]

Themes and Navigation

To complete Keive Tala Shrine, Link must connect four unconnected parts of an Electric circuit on the wall to the left. Link can use the Magnesis Rune and three metallic crates within the Ancient Shrine to connect the circuits. He may also use various conductive Items from his Inventory, such as metal Weapons, Bows, or Shields and Chuchu Jellies. Once the circuit is complete, a gate to the Monk's Pedestal will open.

At the end of the Ancient Shrine, Link meets the Monk Keive Tala, who commends his resourcefulness and rewards him with one of Naboris's Emblem.[4][5] Keive Tala then tells Link to collect all three of Naboris's Emblems to reveal a new challenge.[6] If this is the first or second Ancient Shrine that Link during "EX Champion Urbosa's Song," Keive Tala tells Link how many Shrines remain.[7][8] If it is the third and final Ancient Shrine that Link visits, the Monk will tell him to go to the Divine Beast Vah Naboris.[9] Following this, Keive Tala will fade away.

Link can complete the circuit even further past the gate by lining up four platforms with a Motion Control Puzzle. Doing so successfully opens the gate to an additional small room with a Treasure Chest containing a Radiant Shield.
